Brahmastra: The future of Indian Superhero films

Updated: Apr 16, 2019

Dharma Production’s Brahmastra starring Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Amitabh Bacchan is set to hit the theatres Christmas 2019 and we feel it is going to completely change the Indian superhero genre. The film is directed by Ayan Mukherjee who has previously directed historic hits like Wake Up Sid and Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani. Both his films were produced by Dharma Productions and star Ranbir Kapoor in the leading role. Previous superhero films like Krrish, RA One, Flying Jatt were box office hits but had a horrible audience score. The poor costumes, bad storytelling and dialogues, cringeworthy action sequences is what takes one out of these films. Bhavesh Joshi tried to break the stereotype of these films but failed miserably due to slow pacing of the film and bad reviews.

Everyone has this perception about Indian superhero films that they are poorly directed, the action is bad, they don’t even come close to the Hollywood films etc. This film is aiming to break these stereotypes and is taking the superheroes to the next level. A fresh and a different take on this film is what we are most-excited about. This film has been in the making since almost 5 years now is why we feel is going to be a game-changer. The film is a 3-parter and the marketing of this film is going to be on another level.

Good story with justified heroes and villains, good dialogues and adequate amount of pacing with good acting is what we are looking for in this film.
